Venison in Parliament

Forestry Commission Scotland, participated in an evening at the parliament on the 28th of January.

The key note speech was by Dr Aileen MacLeod, MSP, Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Land Reform.  The main theme of the evening was The value of Forestry to Scotland, included the importance of venison from the National Forest Estate.

FCS was show casing  that through careful management of our trees, woods and forests, venison is supplied to the food sector. The profile & status of venison has been raised remarkably in the UK market and is indeed a proud heritage product to support Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink

Highland Game is thanking FCS and the team, alongside Rannoch Smokery for their support and a fabulous event putting venison on the Year of Food & Drink agenda. Cat & John Francetti offered venison tastings to the guest. Smoked venison from Rannoch Smokery and little cocktail tasters of venison sausages were served canapé style.
