GWCT Dinner & Auction 2013

Press Release

The Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust  Scottish Auction was held on Thursday 9th May at Prestonfield in Edinburgh. This annual fund raiser was sold out this year with over 440 guests attending. This is a clear sign of the support for the critical work undertaken by the Trust here in Scotland. The results of the Trusts  work provide the science required to influence legislation on rural issues such as conservation and sustainability of Scotland\'s wildlife reserves.

The evening was sponsored by Pentland Landrover (the reception) Saffrey Champness (the dinner) and Artemis Fund Management (the bidding system). Again Highland Game donated the venison for the dinner.

The Chairman, Lord Sinclair commented:

"I am humbled by the generosity of support, once again, for this annual event.  Without the support of our Sponsors, Donors, and loyal friends we would not be able to achieve what we do, so I extend my thanks to them all.  We have received nothing but positive comments from the many who attended and were involved with the evening and I am delighted to report that we have raised over £130,000 for the Trust, all of which will be channelled back into the GWCT's research work here in Scotland."

"My thanks once again go to Highland Game who, for the third time,  donated the Venison for the annual Game and Wildlife Conservation Trusts' fundraising event at Prestonfield. I thought it would be difficult to improve on the quality of meat they have donated in the past, but once again it was outstanding and without exception the guests have singled out the venison in their praise of the evening. This, combined with the excellence of the chef at Prestonfield, made this years event one to remember. On behalf of the organising committee I thank Highland Game for their continued support."
