What's Up?

On the 26th of March Highland Game won the Artisan Food accolade at the Scottish Rural Awards Gala Dinner Event held at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh, organised by Scottish Countryside Alliance and The Scottish Field Magazine.

The judges verdict recognised Highland Games, work and commitment of almost single-handedly have made venison ready available nationwide and in doing so created demand and employment which can be felt throughout the whole rural Scotland.

In April we launched our long time coming sub brand “Speciality”. Buyers and consumers alike have been asking Highland Game for years if we could offer other proteins, besides our very successful venison range. In cooperation with Randak Design, we created the ”Speciality” brand offering rare meats of both British and International origin.

We launched the meaty classical quarter pounder gastro style Buffalo burger which is currently flying off the shelves in Morrisons and Sainsbury stores. Soon to be stocked in Tescos as well, in time for the BBQ season.

I am delighted that we are shortlisted in two categories, thanks to the work of our team & our suppliers, “Success Through Partnership”, highlighting our cooperation with Forestry Commission and in the “Food Entrepreneur” category in the Scotland Food & Drink Awards 2015. The Awards gala dinner event will be held at the National Museum for Scotland, Edinburgh on the 27th of May.
